PE and Sport Premium

The Government’s Sports Premium Grant was funded initially for a two year period from 2013. It is designed to raise the profile of sports and healthy lifestyles for pupils, creating a legacy in schools.

Ofsted assess and report on how effectively this funding is being used to improve PE and sport provision making a judgement on the quality of Leadership and Management.

Schools are free to determine how best to use this funding to improve the quality and breadth of PE and sport, so that all pupils develop healthy lifestyles and reach the performance levels of which they are capable.

North Ferriby Primary School have used the money received in further raising the standard of our excellent sports provision. This includes:

  • Additional excellent sports practitioners
  • PE equipment
  • Gymnastic resources
  • Sports Kits
  • Sports Partnership competition package
  • Teacher CPD
  • Extra sports clubs for pupils

We are saving for a Daily Mile track.

What does PE and Sports mean at North Ferriby?

We believe that active, healthy learners will have positive attitudes towards themselves and their learning. Participation in high quality physical education develops confidence and self-esteem.

PE has a central part to play in the learning and development of all our children and is a high profile part of our curriculum, contributing to health, wellbeing and self-esteem of our school community.

We believe in a holistic approach to the development of sport and physical activity for all. Encouraging collaboration and partnership is important to us to make the best use of resources and enhance PE and sport provision in order to raise participation and achievement for all children. PE and sport is taught both by school staff and external providers.
